The case study

The brief

News Central needed an Abuja workplace for a broadcasting organisation. The same floor had to support a live newsroom and present the organisation to guests, partners and executives. Its identity, built around reporting and an Africa First outlook, needed to be part of the space rather than a logo on the wall.

The insight

A broadcast workplace holds two tempos. The newsroom and production areas run to a live schedule where speed and line of sight matter. Reception, lounge and executive space move at the pace of a visitor. If those tempos mix, the newsroom is interrupted and visitors see work that should stay behind the scenes. The plan had to keep them apart while still feeling like one organisation.

Our response

Workstations were organised around newsroom workflow, with red dividers and red seating giving the working floor a strong, ordered rhythm. A black slatted brand wall and the Fearless Reporting artwork bring identity into the working space itself. Reception uses a clean white desk with the News Central and Africa First identity, so guests arrive in a calmer, client-facing setting before any view of the newsroom.
