- The brief
- Cardinal Care Hospital and Maternity is an established specialist fertility and maternity setting in Dakibiyu District, Jabi, Abuja. It needed interiors and building services that support clinical operation, while patients and families experience a calm and dignified environment.
- The insight
- In a hospital the interior cannot be separated from the services behind it. Room layouts depend on mechanical, electrical, plumbing and ventilation routes, and those routes depend on what each room is for. Clinical requirements belong to the client and its appointed specialists. The interior team has to translate them into planning and building services without guessing.
- Our response
- Space planning and interior design were developed together with the MEP installation and HVAC delivery, so spatial decisions and services were resolved at the same time. Work was coordinated with the operational interfaces of a live healthcare environment, including laboratory, theatre and circulation areas, with clinical decisions kept with the client and its specialists.
- Scope
- Space planning, interior design, mechanical, electrical and plumbing installation, air conditioning and ventilation delivery, site inspection, closeout and handover coordination.
- Delivered environment
- A delivered healthcare environment. Project photography records reception, laboratory, theatre and circulation areas, alongside stakeholder walkthroughs and coordination on site.
